The latest intel is that we will hear something from the select committee, wasting tax-payers money considering a breed-specific approach that has proven to be a failure anywhere it has been implemented around the world, somewhere around 11 August.

If this bill passes in it's present form, we will see hundreds - if not thousands - of innocent dogs being surrendered and/or euthanased as owners of 'that type' are bailed up and given the very mean period of just 4 weeks to find around $300 for a spay and around $180 for a neuter, or face a huge fine and/or the loss of their dog.

Even in Ohio - the home of Pit Bull hater, liar and dog warden Tom Skeldon, they give their residents 4 months to find that sort of money.

As I write this, and thanks to the political and media hype, there are God knows how many bully breeds and cross breeds sitting on death row in this country, awaiting the vet's needle.  These are dogs that would make family pets to die for but for the fact that they have been demonised and vilified by an unscrupulous media supporting a cruel and dishonest political agenda.  It is shocking that the New Zealand Veterinary Association is so quiet when their members are the people contracted to kill these animals and, knowing the truth, still enable such policies with their silence.

These little guys will die because the public have been mercilessly duped into believing that they will kill them without provocation.

Just remember, we have seen more than 20,000 genuine Pit Bull Terriers through New Zealand without a single fatality attributed to them.  Not one American Pit Bull Terrier has killed or even seriously injured anyone in this country in more than 20 years.
