Provisional Papers.
These are available for those owners who have discovered that they cannot get full paperwork for their dogs having either bought their dogs from a puppy miller or fallen victim to Ken Moran's ill-kept registry.
Provisional registration allows an owner to either breed their way out of trouble, i.e. breeding their dogs on strictly to fully papered dogs (see Dogs at Stud) until the queried dog appears only in the 6th generation and/or until further information becomes available to fill in the blanks on a genuine bloodline.
It is well worth the stud fees you will pay to be able to show that your kennel is clean and you are serious about your breed. It is also the difference between selling genuine dogs for reasonable prices or flogging pavement specials for peanuts. There are enough unwanted dogs out there now.
