TO THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

 

We respectfully request that the House:

 

To repeal Breed Specific Legislation under the Dog Control Act and replace it with legislation requiring the licensing of dog owners (which shows they understand the laws pertaining to dog ownership, and the social, physical and nutritional needs of dogs).

 

To ensure that no animal welfare or law enforcement agency can discriminate against any dog based upon breed or type.

 

To make provision for the revocation of an owner’s license after three infringements requiring that owners apply for a probationary license (the term being dependent upon the seriousness of the offences), which if infringed will result in banning dog ownership.
