This was an excellent resource for those interested in the truth about dogs and dog bite incidents as it proved in real time that Pit Bulls were by no means the only dogs that bite, nor are they the only dogs that do real damage when they attack in earnest.
This excellent work deserves to be preserved and continued hence this page. Newer incidents will be added as they come to hand.

Black Lab type dog hurts woman, and attacks her pet

POLICE are looking for a man in connection with an attack by his dog on a woman in Daventry Country Park.
The incident took place on Thursday, September 3 at approximately 10am, when a 47-year-old woman was walking her dog in the Country Park.
A black dog possibly a labrador, jumped up at the woman causing her to fall and break her wrist, it then continued to attack her dog.
The owner then approached, put the dog on a lead and walked away.

Davidson County, NC-- A 4-year-old was hospitalized Sunday after being attacked by a dog near her Davidson County home.
"She had a sucker in her mouth, and the dog tried to take it," said Rodney Baisden, the 4-year-old's father. "She's got three lacerations on her face, two bites on her arm, a couple bites on her legs, and it took 50 stitches in her face."

A MOTHER is warning people to be on their guard after her little boy was attacked by a dog in Morton Stanley Park.
Nikki Strearman with having a family day out in the park with son Jamie on Saturday when the attack happened.
Jamie and his five-year-old friend were playing football when the ball rolled off and went under a bench with a man and a woman sat on it.
The two youngsters ran around the bench and it was only then that Jamie’s mum saw an alsatian-type dog sat under the seat.
Before her and her companions could get to Jamie, the dog had attacked him, jumping up and biting his back.

Pet Lab attacks child, dog is put down.
Andrea Dunuwille, 11, was bitten around the face on Sunday afternoon while playing with her aunt's 15-month-old pet Lab. Her cheek was ripped open and four of her top teeth were knocked out, among other injuries, in the attack. She will require plastic and orthodontic surgery.
Border Collie attacks postal worker, requires trip to the e.r. for bad wounds.
EDMONTON - Recent dog attacks on letter carriers -- one sending a man to hospital -- have Canada Post pleading for homeowner responsibility.
"I'll definitely always be a bit paranoid in the back of my mind of loose dogs," said letter carrier David Wilson, who was attacked by a dog on Aug. 28.
The animal left an eight-centimetre gash on his leg, exposing a bone.
"I just have to hope dog owners will be a little bit more responsible about how they keep their dog."

A dog that was responsible for a vicious attack on a teenage girl in east Windsor last weekend is being designated by the Humane Society as "dangerous."
"It had her by the arm," said William Green, a neighbourhood resident who witnessed the attack. "The bone was visible... She had chunks of her own flesh on her clothes. She was in shock."

Dog Bite hospitalizes two children (CoonHound)

Two girls, ages 2 and 8, were sent to Floyd Medical Center early Thursday evening after being bitten by a dog.
Police say the incident happened outside of an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Burnett Ferry Road around 7:15 p.m. when the two girls were walking with their babysitter to take out the trash and came near the dog’s puppies.
The dog, described as a coonhound, did not have a rabies tag. It left the two children wounded, tearing the 2-year-old’s leg, which required stitches, and, leaving the 8-year-old with a puncture wound on her arm, said Capt. Tom Ewing with Floyd County police.

Murfreesboro Child Bitten By Police Dog

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- A dog owned by the Murfreesboro Police Department has attacked a 13-year-old girl.
The Daily News Journal reported the dog escaped from a fenced area of a helicopter landing pad behind Central Middle School and bit Kristen Powell, a student at the school.
She was taken to Vanderbilt University Children's Hospital in Nashville and was reported in stable condition.

Wibsey Park attack Akita dog still on loose after attack

A dog-walker has been attacked by a Japanese Akita, which was last night still believed to be loose in Bradford.
Andrew Moorhouse, 56, of Delauney Close, Wibsey, was walking his cocker-spaniel, Oscar in Wibsey Park, Beacon Road, when they were set upon by the fully-grown male dog.
He said: “I noticed the Akita coming across the road, and it looked angry – it had a cone around its head as though it had recently had surgery.
“It just made a bee-line for my dog. I managed to get him into my arms and it attacked me, I ended up on my back in the road.
